If FBC: Firebreak crashes, fails to launch, or shows missing textures on Steam, checking the integrity of its installation can often resolve the issue. Steam’s built‑in verification tool compares your local files against the latest version on Valve’s servers and downloads replacements for any corrupted or missing files.
Steps to verify game files on Steam
Restart your PC. A simple reboot can clear temporary files and resolve minor issues before you verify the game.
Open Steam and go to your Library.
Right‑click FBC: Firebreak in the list of games and select Properties.
Navigate to the Installed Files tab (older clients may label it Local Files).
Click Verify integrity of game files. Steam will compare the game’s files against the current version and automatically download any missing or corrupted data.
Wait for the validation process to finish. This may take several minutes, depending on the size of the game and the speed of your storage device.
Once complete, relaunch FBC: Firebreak. If Steam reports that files were reacquired, the issue should be resolved.
Important Notes
- Do not run the game while the verification is in progress. Wait until Steam finishes before launching again.
If the issue persists after verification, try deleting the game’s download cache from Steam’s Settings → Downloads menu and re‑verify.
Keep your graphics drivers up to date to avoid crashes related to outdated drivers.
