The PS5 doesn’t include a dedicated file‑verification tool for individual games. If FBC: Firebreak crashes, freezes, or won’t load properly, rebuilding the console’s database and clearing its cache can resolve corrupted data. If problems persist, reinstalling the game is often the best solution.

Clear Cache and Rebuild Database

  1. Power off the console completely. Press and hold the power button for three seconds; wait until the console shuts down.

  2. Enter Safe Mode. Press and hold the power button again and release it after the second beep (approximately seven seconds). Connect your controller via USB and press the PS button.

  3. From the Safe Mode menu, choose Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.

    • Select Clear System Software Cache to remove temporary files if you’re experiencing performance drops.

    • Select Rebuild Database to scan the drive and create a new database of all content. This can fix missing icons or corrupted game data.

  4. Wait for the process to complete. The console will restart when finished.

  5. Launch FBC: Firebreak. If the game still has issues, continue with Option 2.

Alternative option: Reinstall FBC: Firebreak

  1. On the PS5 home screen, navigate to Game Library.

  2. Highlight FBC: Firebreak, press the Options button and select Delete.

  3. Once removed, go to Your Collection in the Game Library, select FBC: Firebreak and choose Download to reinstall the game.

  4. After installation, launch the game to see if the issue is resolved.

Important Notes

  • Clearing the cache can resolve performance issues beyond just one game and may improve overall system responsiveness.

  • During reinstall, make sure your PS5 stays connected to the internet so the latest patch downloads automatically.
