Paranatural Site Objectives, Hazards & Tactical Tips

What Are Jobs?

Jobs are mission-based objectives in FBC: Firebreak that deploy Firebreakers into the unstable Zones of the Oldest House to contain, neutralize, or cleanse paranatural phenomena. Each Job is uniquely affected by an Anomaly or Altered Item, requiring coordination, tool mastery, and tactical adaptability.

Each Job features unique mechanics, enemy behavior modifiers, and environmental hazards.

Job Breakdown & Strategic Tips

Hot Fix

Objective: Shut down the overheated Furnace core by repairing malfunctioning transfer fans across multiple sectors.

Job Summary:
The Furnace has gone critical. Navigate through high-temp zones, repair cooling systems, and prevent the entire sector from melting down. Expect escalating enemy aggression the longer the system remains active.

Tips for Operators:

  • Heat-Enhanced Enemies: Hiss become more dangerous the hotter the environment is. Prioritize extinguishing fires and repairing fans to lower the ambient temperature.

  • Time Pressure: Lingering increases Hiss difficulty. Move quickly and use team roles strategically.

Paper Chase

Objective: Contain a rogue sticky-note anomaly flooding the office complex.

Job Summary:
A harmless clerical tool has gone paranatural. Your crew must destroy infected sticky notes, cleanse each room, and stop the anomaly before it evolves.

Tips for Firebreakers:

  • Stay Clean: Dry sticky notes will leap onto players. Use Healing Stations to wash them off before they transform you into a Shuffler.

  • Mobility Matters: Fast movement and perimeter clearing are key. Keep your team mobile.

Ground Control

Objective: Harvest irradiated leech pearls to prevent further infestation of the Quarry.

Job Summary:
A leech swarm threatens mining stability. Your team must push the shuttle to retrieve glowing leech pearls and return them to containment before they breach the site.

Tips for Firebreakers:

  • Push as a Team: The shuttle moves faster with multiple players pushing. Coordinate and clear the path ahead.

  • Watch for Irradiation: Leech pearls might emit hazardous effects—stack resistance perks as needed.

  • Zone Coverage: Maintain forward pressure and assign a rear-guard for defense.

Frequency Shift

Objective: Restore the Gamma Emitter and neutralize pink Exogenic Mass contamination.

Job Summary:
The zone has been overrun with unstable pink globs that detonate on contact. Cleanse the zone and reboot the emitter to restore frequency stability.

Tips for Firebreakers:

  • YOU are the Bomb: When covered in pink globs, melee damage or fire will cause you to explode. Stay cautious and alert.

  • Clean ASAP: Locate contamination showers or safe zones to cleanse yourself before rejoining the fight.

Freezer Duty

Objective: Contain an Altered Item that's causing widespread freezing and frost anomalies.

Job Summary:
A freezing artifact is triggering cryo-chaos within the Oldest House. Your crew must locate frost anomalies, disperse them, and perform the containment ritual before a full lockdown is initiated.

Tips for Firebreakers:

  • Stay Warm: Use shields, perks, or proximity to para-utility sources to offset freezing debuffs.

  • Frost Anomalies Stack: Don’t let them pile up, prioritize crowd control and quick clearances.

  • Ritual Coordination: The containment ritual requires synchronization. Stick together when performing key objectives.

Final Recommendations:

  • Customize Loadouts: Match perks to job hazards (e.g., "Hard Living" for Freezer Duty, "Shake It Off" for Paper Chase).

  • Use Team Composition: Rotate who handles objectives, crowd control, and defense.

  • Watch the Environment: Every job introduces modifiers that punish carelessness. Read cues, stay agile.

Important Questions:

  • Q: How do we access clearance levels above three? We appear to be stuck, not being able to go beyond that.
    • A: You don't. This is actually Clearance Level 3 and Corruption Level 3.
