Xbox One usually backs up your game saves automatically to the cloud, as long as you’re online and signed into Xbox Live.

Back Up Save Data (Automatic Cloud Sync)

  1. Make sure your Xbox One is connected to the internet.

  2. Sign in using the Xbox profile that owns the save data.

  3. Launch the game you want to sync.

  4. After closing the game, wait a few seconds until you see “Syncing data…” appear.

You’re done. Saves should now be backed up to the cloud.

Restore Save Data (When Returning to a Game or New Console)

  1. Sign in to your Xbox profile on the console.

  2. Connect to the internet.

  3. Launch the game you want to restore data for.

  4. The console will automatically download your latest cloud save.

  • If the cloud save is newer than local data, Xbox will replace your local save.
  • If the cloud save is older, Xbox asks which version to keep.

Manage Saved Data (Delete / Clear Local)

If saves become corrupted or won’t sync:

  1. Go to My games & apps

  2. Highlight the game

  3. Press the Menu button

  4. Select Manage game and add-ons

  5. Select Saved data

  6. Choose:

    • Delete from console: Keeps cloud save

    • Delete everywhere: Deletes cloud + console save (Irreversible!)

Important Notes

  • Make sure Xbox Live is connected, and the same profile is logged in
  • If you are stuck in Syncing data, perform a console restart, then relaunch the game
  • If your Cloud saves are missing, check your wifi or reconnect to the internet.
