CONTROL Ultimate Edition on GOG can be updated either automatically through the GOG Galaxy client or manually by downloading the latest offline installer from your GOG Library. Updates often include bug fixes, stability improvements, and game enhancements released by Remedy.

Update via GOG Galaxy (Automatic Method)

If you installed CONTROL Ultimate Edition through the GOG Galaxy client, updates are handled automatically.

  1. Open GOG Galaxy and sign in with your account.

  2. Click Library and select CONTROL Ultimate Edition.

  3. If an update is available, you’ll see a “Update Available” banner above the Play button.

  4. Click Update to download and install the latest patch.

To ensure updates happen automatically:

  1. Go to GOG Galaxy → Settings → Game Features.

  2. Check Auto-Update Games.

Update via Offline Installer (Manual Method)

If you installed CONTROL Ultimate Edition manually using offline backup installers:

  1. Visit GOG.com and sign in to your account.

  2. Go to your Library and locate CONTROL Ultimate Edition.

  3. Under Downloads → Offline Backup Game Installers, re-download the latest.exe and.bin files.

  4. Uninstall the current version from your PC (optional but recommended).

  5. Run the new.exe installer to apply the update.

Note: Offline installers include the latest version number — compare it with your installed version to confirm if an update is needed.

Verify and Repair Installation (If Update Fails)

If you’re using GOG Galaxy and an update won’t download or install properly:

  1. In GOG Galaxy, select CONTROL Ultimate Edition.

  2. Click the More button (next to Play).

  3. Go to Manage Installation → Verify / Repair.

  4. Wait for the process to complete, then restart the launcher.

Optional: Check Version Number

To confirm you’re running the latest version:

  1. Launch CONTROL Ultimate Edition.

  2. On the main menu, check the lower-right corner, the build number (eg, v1.12 or v1.15) is displayed there.

  3. Compare it with the version listed on the Control store page on GOG.com.

  3. Provide additional details. Player Support may ask you for additional files or info that may help with your issue, such as Error Code/Message, DxDiag, or MSInfo.
