GOG Galaxy’s Verify / Repair feature checks your local installation against the version hosted on GOG’s servers. Use it whenever CONTROL Ultimate Edition crashes, fails to launch or exhibits missing assets. This process re‑downloads any files that are damaged.
1. Open GOG Galaxy
Launch GOG Galaxy and sign in to your GOG account.
Click the Library tab.
Select CONTROL Ultimate Edition from your game list.
2. Start the Verification Process
Click the More button (•••) next to the Play button.
Go to Manage Installation → Verify / Repair.
A new window will appear showing the progress of the verification process.
3. Wait for the Process to Complete
The duration depends on your drive speed and internet connection.
GOG Galaxy will automatically download and replace damaged files.
Once completed, you’ll see a Verification Complete message.
4. Restart the Game
After verification finishes:
Close and restart GOG Galaxy.
Click Play to relaunch CONTROL Ultimate Edition.
Check if performance or stability issues are resolved.
Troubleshooting
If verification doesn’t fix the problem:
Run GOG Galaxy as Administrator and repeat the process.
Disable antivirus software temporarily to rule out interference.
Reinstall the game using GOG Galaxy’s More → Manage Installation → Uninstall, then reinstall it fresh.
Important Note: If you installed CONTROL Ultimate Edition using offline backup installers, this verification feature will not appear. Manual reinstallation is required instead.
