Uninstalling the game removes it from your local PC, but your ownership remains in your GOG library. Your saved data and cloud backups stay safe unless manually deleted.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Error E15 / Uninstall failed:
Run the local uninstaller (unins000.exe) manually and then restart GOG Galaxy.
If the issue persists, reboot your PC and try again.
If Galaxy still shows the game as installed, follow the official GOG E15 Uninstall Steps.

  • Leftover files:
Open the install directory and manually delete any remaining files.
To fully clear space, also remove%LOCALAPPDATA%\Remedy\Control if safe to do so.

  • Galaxy greyed out or stuck:
Close GOG Galaxy, end background tasks in Task Manager, and restart.
If that fails, reinstall GOG Galaxy.

Save Data and Cloud Backups

Uninstalling does not delete your GOG Galaxy cloud saves.
If you wish to back up manually, see our Back Up and Restore Save Data on GOG article.

If the game still won’t uninstall or shows repeated E15 errors, contact GOG Support for assistance.
