Xbox One consoles don’t include a file‑verification tool. If Control Ultimate Edition crashes, freezes, or fails to load properly, the recommended approach is to uninstall and reinstall the game. This process replaces corrupted data with a fresh download and often resolves unexpected behaviour.

Steps to repair on Xbox One

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller and navigate to My games & apps → See all → Games.

  2. Highlight CONTROL Ultimate Edition, press the Menu button (☰), and select Uninstall → Uninstall all to remove the game.

  3. After uninstalling, restart your Xbox One – press and hold the Xbox button and choose Restart console.

  4. Once the console restarts, reinstall the game: open My games & apps, go to Full library → Owned games, select CONTROL Ultimate Edition, and choose Install all.

Important Notes

  • Uninstalling the game does not delete your save data. Your progress is stored in the cloud and will sync automatically when you reinstall, provided you’re connected to Xbox Live.

  • Ensure you have enough free storage space before reinstalling. Consider moving other games or apps to an external drive to free up internal space.

  • If issues persist after reinstalling, perform a full power cycle: hold the physical Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds to shut it down, unplug the power cable for a minute, then power it back on and reinstall the game.
