Combat Positioning and Mobility

Combat in CONTROL Ultimate Edition rewards mobility over staying behind cover. Although cover can provide temporary protection, remaining in one place for too long allows Hiss enemies to surround, flank, or overwhelm your position. Instead of relying on static cover, treat the battlefield as a dynamic space that constantly encourages movement.

Throughout combat, use sprinting, jumping, and the Evade ability to reposition around enemies, avoid incoming attacks, and create better opportunities to counterattack. As Jesse becomes stronger, combat becomes increasingly vertical, making movement just as important as accuracy.

• Switch to paranatural abilities while the weapon recharges
• Avoid triggering the extended cooldown whenever possible

Exploration and Progression

The Oldest House is designed as a large interconnected world that gradually expands as Jesse gains new abilities and higher security clearances. During your first visit to many areas, you'll encounter locked doors, inaccessible rooms, hidden pathways, and unreachable platforms that cannot yet be explored.

Rather than viewing these as dead ends, remember their locations and return later. As Jesse unlocks abilities such as Levitate and acquires higher-level Clearance Cards, previously inaccessible areas become available for exploration.

Unlocking additional Control Points also makes revisiting earlier sectors much faster, encouraging players to search for hidden secrets throughout the Bureau.
