Experiencing unexpected crashes while playing CONTROL Ultimate Edition on your iPhone, Vision, or iPad? We know it can be super frustrating when the game suddenly quits. But here's some good news: you can help us figure out what's going wrong by sending us a special report called a "crash log." Think of it like a detailed note your phone writes down right when something goes wrong, telling us exactly what happened.

Sending us these logs is a huge help for our team to investigate and fix these issues, making the game better for everyone. Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds, and we'll walk you through it step-by-step!

What's a Crash Log?

Imagine your phone is a detective. When CONTROL Ultimate Edition crashes, your phone automatically creates a secret report that's the crash log. This report contains technical details about what the app was doing just before it crashed. It doesn't contain any personal information about you, just data about the app's performance.

Step-by-Step: Finding and Sending Your Crash Log

Follow these steps on your iPhone or iPad to find and share the crash log with our Player Support team:

1. Open Settings:
  • Tap the grey "Settings" app icon on your Home Screen.
2. Navigate to Analytics Data:

a. Scroll down and tap on "Privacy & Security."
b. Scroll down again and tap on "Analytics & Improvements."
c. Tap on "Analytics Data."

3. Find the Right Log:

a. You'll see a long list of files here. These are all the diagnostic reports your phone has collected.
b. Scroll through the list and look for files that start with Control_ followed by a date and time (e.g.,Control_2026-04-28-103000.ips). This is your crash log for CONTROL Ultimate Edition.
c. If you recently experienced a crash, look for the most recent Control_ file. The date and time in the filename will help you identify it.

Note: Sometimes, there might be multiple crash logs if the game crashed more than once. If you're unsure which one to send, feel free to send the most recent one, or if you've experienced several crashes, you can send a few of the most recent Control_ logs. Each log helps us piece together the puzzle!

4. Share the Log:

a. Tap on the Control_ log file you want to send.
b. On the next screen, tap the "Share" icon (it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards) in the top right corner.
c. From the sharing options, select "Save to Files" or "AirDrop" to transfer the log to a computer, or simply keep it in your Files app for later.

5. Send to Player Support via Helpshift Chatbot:

a. Open the Remedy Help Center: Go to remedy.helpshift.com in your web browser.
b. Start a Ticket. Click the chat bubble icon, usually located in the lower-right corner of the page, to open the chatbot and start a new support ticket.
c. Describe Your Issue. Select "Bug Reports," "Game Freeze/Crash," or the most relevant option that describes your problem. Answer the chatbot's questions carefully.
d. Provide Key Information, be sure to include:
  • Your email address
  • Your platform (iOS - iPhone/iPad)
  • A clear description of what went wrong and what you were doing when the crash happened.
  • Any screenshots or video recordings of the issue.
e. Attach the Crash Log. When prompted by the chatbot, you will be able to upload the crash log file you saved.

Pro-Tip (Crash Log File Types): Crash reports commonly have .crash or .ips file extensions. If you have an .ips file, please prioritize sending that one when available, as it often contains more detailed information. The Helpshift chatbot system might not allow .ips files directly. To ensure your crash report can be uploaded, you can change the file extension from .ips to .txt before attaching it. For example, renameControl_2026-04-28-103000.ips toControl_2026-04-28-103000.txt.
