Before stepping into the Oldest House, there are a few important things every new Director should know.
Before You Begin
CONTROL Ultimate Edition is a visually demanding AAA experience designed for newer Apple hardware. For the best experience, make sure your device is supported, updated to the latest iOS version, and has enough free storage space available before downloading the game.
The game also requires a stable internet connection during installation since additional game assets may download after launching the game for the first time.

Downloading and Installing the Game
Getting started is simple through the App Store.
Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and search for CONTROL Ultimate Edition. Once you find the game, tap the purchase or download button and complete the installation process using your Apple ID.
After the initial installation finishes, the game may continue downloading additional asset packs during the first launch. Because of the game’s large size, we strongly recommend staying connected to stable Wi-Fi and keeping the game open while these downloads complete.
Interrupting these downloads may lead to:
- Incomplete installation
- Missing textures
- Crashing
- Loading issues
Stay Connected: Keep your device connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and plugged into power during the download. CONTROL is a big game, and a stable connection is key!Note: Large downloads can be interrupted by unstable connections, leading to corrupted files. A strong Wi-Fi signal ensures a smooth, complete download.
Your First Steps Inside the Oldest House
CONTROL is designed around exploration, experimentation, and environmental storytelling. The Oldest House constantly shifts and hides secrets throughout its corridors, so taking time to explore can greatly improve your experience.
As you progress through the game, Jesse will unlock a variety of supernatural abilities and Service Weapon forms. Different enemies and encounters may encourage different playstyles, so experimenting with powers is highly recommended instead of relying on a single combat approach.
You may also notice your device becoming warm during extended gameplay sessions. CONTROL Ultimate Edition uses advanced graphical technologies and high-end rendering features, which can place a significant load on supported Apple devices.
To help maintain stable performance:
- Avoid gaming while charging when possible
- Remove thick protective cases if the device becomes too warm
- Close unused background apps before launching the game
Pro-Tips for New Directors!
- Headphones On: For the best experience, plug in some headphones! CONTROL's audio design is incredible and really pulls you into the Oldest House.
- Explore Everything: Don't rush! The Oldest House is full of secrets, lore, and hidden areas. Take your time to explore every nook and cranny.
- Experiment with Abilities: Jesse's powers are your best friends. Try out different combinations in combat to find what works for you.
