If CONTROL Ultimate Edition fails to install, gets stuck downloading, crashes immediately after installation, or displays storage-related errors, this guide will help you troubleshoot the most common installation issues on iOS devices.

Each troubleshooting step below escalates in scope and impact. If a quick adjustment does not resolve the issue, continue to the next step.

Before You Begin

Be sure you have the following on your checklist before troubleshooting:

  • Your device is officially supported
  • Your device is updated to the latest iOS version
  • You have a stable internet connection
  • You have enough available storage space

CONTROL Ultimate Edition requires approximately 45 GB of storage space.

Step 1: Restart Your Device

Temporary system issues can interrupt App Store downloads or installation.

Restart iPhone or iPad

  1. Press and hold the power button and volume button.
  2. Drag the power slider to turn off the device.
  3. Wait 30 seconds.
  4. Turn the device back on.

After restarting, try downloading the game again.

Step 2: Check Available Storage

Insufficient storage is one of the most common installation problems.

To Check Storage

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap iPhone Storage or iPad Storage

If storage is low:

  • delete unused apps
  • remove large videos or files
  • clear downloaded media

Step 3: Verify Your Internet Connection

Large game downloads require a stable connection.

Recommended

  • Use Wi-Fi instead of mobile data
  • Avoid VPN connections during installation
  • Restart your router if downloads freeze

If the App Store download pauses repeatedly:

  1. Pause the download
  2. Resume it after several seconds

Step 4: Update iOS

Older iOS versions may cause installation failures or compatibility issues.

To update iOS

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Software Update
  4. Install any available updates

Step 5: Reinstall the Game

If installation files become corrupted:

  1. Delete CONTROL Ultimate Edition from your device
  2. Restart the device
  3. Re-download the game from the App Store

Step 6: Clear Downloaded Asset Packs

The CONTROL Ultimate Edition has a built-in option to manualy remove downloaded asset packs.

To Enable Asset Pack Cleanup

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Select CONTROL Ultimate Edition
  4. Enable:
Delete Asset Packs on Next Run

This removes downloaded game assets the next time the game launches.

Note: Low Power Mode can slow or interrupt large downloads.

Pro Tips

  • Keep your device connected to a charger during installation.
  • Avoid downloading other apps while installing CONTROL.
  • Restarting your device before reinstalling can help clear temporary App Store issues.
